Connect it in three steps
- 1Open the GovConDash listing in the Claude connector directory and choose Connect.
- 2Sign in to your GovConDash Pro or Max account and choose Allow.
- 3In a chat, choose the + button, select Connectors, turn GovConDash on, and ask a question.

The listing works in claude.ai and in Claude Desktop. If your organization adds connectors for its members, or you would rather add the server address yourself, the Claude guide on our Connect page has the custom connector steps.
1Cost principlesWork a cost principle from the FAR to DCAA's guidance
A cost question rarely stops at the cost principle. This prompt asks for the regulation, the Cost Accounting Standards, the Department of War's FAR Overhaul deviations and DCAA's guidance in a single request.
Ask Claude
"Is a retention bonus allowable under FAR 31.205-6? Check the CAS, any DoW class deviation in the FAR Overhaul, and what DCAA's guidance tells auditors to look for."
Tools it calls
- Read one regulation
- Profile a FAR 31.205 cost principle
- Search the Cost Accounting Standards
- Check the FAR Overhaul deviation for a part
- Search DCAA guidance
What you get: The regulation text comes from the 10,106 eCFR sections GovConDash holds, and each result links to its source, so you can open the section or the deviation behind any sentence Claude writes.
Keep in mind: The regulation text is the authority; a stored analysis is AI-generated and says so.
2Case lawSee how the boards, the courts and GAO decided a question
One question, every forum, with the False Claims Act record beside it. You do not have to know in advance where a question has been litigated.
Ask Claude
"How have the boards, the Court of Federal Claims, the Federal Circuit and GAO treated a constructive change claim on a firm fixed price contract, and has the False Claims Act record touched it?"
Tools it calls
- Search everything
- Search decisions
- Find decisions citing an authority
- Read one decision
What you get: The search runs over 18,258 decisions of GAO, the Armed Services and Civilian Boards of Contract Appeals, the Court of Federal Claims, the Federal Circuit and the SBA Office of Hearings and Appeals. Each result links to the decision's public page or the official document.
Keep in mind: Read the opinion text before relying on a holding; a summary is a starting point, not a citation.
3OpportunitiesList the notices and topics matched to your company
The first prompts read the record. This one reads your company.
Ask Claude
"Which SAM.gov notices and DoW SBIR/STTR topics match my company this week, and which close soonest?"
Tools it calls
- Read my company profile
- List opportunities matched to my company
- List SBIR/STTR topics matched to my company
- Read one opportunity
What you get: The matches come from the company profile on your GovConDash account, the same one the dashboard matches against, so Claude ranks notices and topics for your company rather than for a keyword.
Keep in mind: Matches read the company of interest on your account; set it on the dashboard first.
65 tools in seven categories
The prompts above call a handful of them. Claude picks the tools a question needs, and you never have to name one. The server groups them the same way the tool reference does, where every tool has its parameters and an example prompt.
What the connection does and does not do
It only reads. No tool can change your account, your company profile or anything you have saved.
It runs as you. Every call runs under the account that signed in, and your plan is checked on every call, so a lapsed plan stops the tools at once.
It brings no model of its own. Claude does the reasoning, so tool calls never count against your plan's AI runs. They have their own daily allowance: 500 calls on Pro and 1,250 on Max, at up to 60 a minute.
Disclaimer. A listing in the Claude connector directory is not an endorsement by Anthropic of GovConDash or of any answer. Tool results are research material, not legal or accounting advice; read the source before you rely on it. Anthropic's own documentation covers unlisted connectors and connector sign-in.
